Burning Bush

is a fire sculpture featuring a steady flame that engulfs the ten twisting branches of this seven-foot tall tree.

Autonomies of Scale

is a project that I made for Burning Man 2010 and our theme camp Sukkat Shalom.  Two tables, each displaying a small pilot flame emanating from its center, are ringed by six chairs.  When the first person sits to gaze into the fire, nothing happens.  However, each person thereafter that joins activates a mechanism that incrementally increases the size of the flame.  More people, more heat, more light, more love.
